Design Reflection & Evaluation

For my product I have design a doll model base on the Japanese Kimono girl. It a small little model / toy type of product that is use as a toy for entertaining purposes or could be perfect as a gift or holiday or any special occasion. to make this idea more unique is I design the doll so that the face is detach able allowing the user to chance the doll face or it mood to reflected their own. It is accomplished by making a Lego like piece with studs on top of the face plate and tubes on the inside of the head frame. I think it a cute little add on that allow customization can make the product much more attractive that a regular doll. As for the material I have believe full color sand stone would be most suitable for this product because full color sand stone is the only 3D printing material that is capable of printing in full color so it is good for figurine type of product like mine. Although it is not as durable or strong in comparison to other material I don't believe this product with get expose to condition that could damage it because it is meant to be a display object after all and sand stone is also the second cheapest material. I believe product of this generation is all about customization so it would be nice to give options such as the clothes and hair color to be change to give the doll a unique and personal touch. Since sandstone is not a recyclable material the product must be appealing to grab user attention so they don't throw it away too soon so the customization might solve that issues.
